The Battle of Thermopylae: A discussion with Prof. Cartledge
Renowned historian Prof. Paul Cartledge joins HALC to commemorate the 2500th anniversary of the Battle of Thermopylae, discussing the events that took place and its lasting legacy, and his book Thermopylae: The Battle That Changed the World.
Paul Cartledge is the A.G. Leventis Professor of Greek Culture in the Faculty of Classics at the University of Cambridge, and has written and edited over 20 books. As well as being an expert on ancient Sparta, he is also an honorary citizen of modern Sparta, and holds the Gold Cross of the Order of Honor awarded by the President of Greece.
Our commemoration of the 2500th anniversary of the Battles of Salamis and Thermopylae is in partnership with the Embassy of Greece in the US.
