Lessons from the ledge: Alison Levine at TEDxMidwest

Alison Levine, a history-making explorer and mountaineer, served as the team captain of the first American Women's Everest Expedition. In May 2010, she completed the Adventure Grand Slam -- climbing the 7 Summits (highest peak on each continent) and skiing to both Poles, an accomplishment fewer than 30 people in the world have achieved.In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
