‘Horse has well and truly bolted’ for gun control in the United States
The Australian’s Washington Correspondent Adam Creighton says the horse has “well and truly bolted” for gun control in the United States with hundreds of millions of guns floating around.
Suspected Maine mass shooter Robert Card is the subject of a massive manhunt over a Wednesday night shooting spree which left 18 people dead.
Mr Creighton said shootings like those committed in Maine are almost “immediately politicised” but noted there will be no “substantive change” to gun laws.
“These shootings are all too frequent and it’s a great tragedy, it’s a shocking atrocity,” he told Sky News host James Morrow.
Federal, state, county and local authorities are desperately trying to locate Card.
