BREAKING! Tesla Will Soon Have 4680 Batteries Coming From a New Site

Tesla will son have its 4680 batteries coming from a new location in addition to Giga Texas and Giga Nevada because Panasonic is seeking new US sites to build a new factory for 4680 Tesla battery production. This talks about huge demand.

Bloomberg reports that Panasonic is engaged in takes with two US sites in Kansa and Oklahoma to build a multibillion dollar EV battery plant to produce 4680 batteries for Tesla.

While the process is still in its early stages, the plans are a bold move for Panasonic, which has promised to lead the industry again in the future. Recently, Panasonic has been slower to scale-up compared to competing suppliers LG Energy Solution and Contemporary Amperex Technology Co.

In February Panasonic announced that it will expand one of its factories in western Japan to mass-produce there from its 2023-2024 fiscal year its next lithium-ion battery, which is already the subject of strong demand from the American Tesla.

Panasonic's new '4680' cylindrical battery (so called because it's 46mm in diameter and 80mm in height) is larger and more powerful than its previous models, while supposedly cheaper to manufacture.

This product already benefits from "strong demand" from Tesla, which will therefore be served as a priority, said the Japanese group's chief financial officer, Hirokazu Umeda, in early February when publishing its quarterly results.
