I’m Thinking of Ending Things ending explained (Netflix). What the end of Charlie Kaufman’s new movie based on Iain Reid’s novel means. Please Subscribe - http://bit.ly/PetePeppers
The new Netflix movie “i’m thinking of ending things” has a pretty normal premise with a couple going on a road trip to visit family. On the way to his family farm we get hints that things aren’t that simple. When they arrive it’s clear that things aren’t what they seem, or at least things are distorted in some way. By the time his parents start appearing at different ages it seems pretty obvious that what the couple is experiencing isn’t real, but if it’s not that then what is it? And why does her name and job and what she’s studying keep changing?
And, what’s up with the shots of a janitor doing his job at a high school? Is his scraping gum of a chair somehow relevant to their relationship?
I’m thinking of ending things is confusing and disorienting. We think the title relates to Lucy wanting to end their relationship, but realize it about something much darker. When you finish watching the movie for the first time on Netflix you find yourself with a lot of questions. This ending explained video compares the end of the movie with details from the ending of the book. We fill in what happened to Jake/the Janitor at the end, and what that means about his girlfriend.

Despite second thoughts about their relationship, a young woman (Jessie Buckley) takes a road trip with her new boyfriend (Jesse Plemons) to his family farm. Trapped at the farm during a snowstorm with Jake’s mother (Toni Collette) and father (David Thewlis), the young woman begins to question the nature of everything she knew or understood about her boyfriend, herself, and the world. An exploration of regret, longing and the fragility of the human spirit, I'M THINKING OF ENDING THINGS is directed and written by Academy Award® winner Charlie Kaufman (ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND). Inspired by Iain Reid's bestselling namesake novel. Kaufman also wrote Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, and wrote and directed Synecdoche, New York.
