I wanted to record this video, because after teaching the cross choke from mount over the past few weeks, several people asked me if its normal for the wrists to hurt while doing the choke in BJJ.

Even though I'd been doing BJJ for 8+ years when I really started to properly learn the cross choke from mount, my wrists hurt a lot at first. What fixed it for me, was several specific wrist strength exercises that have direct application to the demands on the hands and wrists when you're choking someone.

So, if you want better wrist and hand strength, specific to the demands of choking someone in BJJ, try these exercises. I promise they'll help.
