Wild boars are animals which find food exclusively on the ground. Not it’s the middle of spring and the winter months fraught with hunger have been left far behind. The female pigs gave birth to piglets, which have grown a little and learnt to copy the habits of adult animals.
In the video we see three joined pig families with three female pigs and 5-6-week-old piglets.
It’s easy to see how animals eat young juicy shoots of plants, including the primroses (scilla siberica) and thoroughly dig out their bulbs.
In spring the main food of wild boars in this area is insects and their larvae, wet acorns from the previous year, bulbs of plants, which the animals dig out of the forest floor. However, young green grass will soon become their main source of food for a long time.
In the video it can clearly be seen how the female has scented the camera, which had been installed several months before, and got scared of human scent. This is typical behavior of adult animals. In the areas where wild boars are hunted, human smell causes panic and an urge to flee.
The video was filmed on the territory of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine in the reserve Sinicheskiy (a part of the Yaromovskiy nature reserve), where hunting is prohibited. Unfortunately, many animals will venture across the boundary of protected land and the ‘nature lovers’, as hunters like calling themselves, will be killing them with sadistic pleasure, bringing back home bags of meat and congratulating themselves on their heroic deeds and shooting these defenseless herbivores.
This area is to be included in the ‘Izium Luka’ national park, which is in the process of being created in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine. Only the creation of a national park will help preserve the forests from modern-day massive tree-cutting and protect unique natural systems from destruction.
Right now the lives of these tiny striped cuties are not being threatened. The female wild boar is a touchingly caring mother, who always looks after her kids. Now they are fed and playing around, enjoying their forest life.

Дикие маленькие поросята съели все цветы и перекопали лесную подстилку.

Дикие кабаны, животные, добывающие себе пропитание исключительно на земле. Сейчас середина весны и голодные зимние месяцы остались далеко позади. У самок появились малыши, которые уже успели чуть подрасти и усвоить все повадки взрослых животных.

На видео три объединённых выводка во главе с тремя самками и поросятами примерно 5-6 недельного возраста.

Хорошо видно, как животные поедают сочные молодые побеги растений в том числе цветы и листья первоцветов (Пролеска сибирская Scilla siberica) а также тщательно вырывают их луковицы.

Весной на данной территории основным кормом диких кабанов являются насекомые и их личинки, набухшие желуди прошлого года, луковицы растений, которые животные вырывают из лесной подстилки, но скоро их основным кормом на длительный период станет молодая зеленая травка.

На видео хорошо видно, как самка унюхала камеру, установленную несколько месяцев назад, и испугалась запаха человека. Это характерное поведение взрослых животных. Запах человека у диких кабанов в районах, где это животное является объектом охоты, вызывает панический страх и бегство.

Видео снято на территории природно-заповедного фонда Украины в заказнике Синичинский (входит в Яремовский природный резерват), где охота запрещена. Но, к глубокому сожалению, многие животные к охотничьему сезону выйдут за границы заповедной территории и «любители природы», как любят себя называть охотники, будут с азартом их убивать, возвеличивая свой интеллект моральных уродов и возвращаясь домой с сумками мяса, добытого в геройской и неравной борьбе с травоядными животными.

Данная территория планируется быть включенной в создаваемый в Изюмском районе Харьковской области национальный парк «Изюмская лука». Только создание нацпарка сможет сохранить лесные массивы от современных масштабных рубок и защитить уникальные природные комплексы от уничтожения.

Жизни маленьких полосатых крошек сейчас ничего не угрожает, самка кабана удивительно заботливая мать и не спускает глаз с малышей, а те в свою очередь, сыты и умилительно играются.
