New Laminate Kitchen Countertops

Note that Strait Flooring did make good on all issues shown in this video, and we are very pleased with the luxurious look, feel and performance of our new, laminate kitchen countertops and cast-iron sink!
After getting several estimates for remodeling our kitchen, we hired Strait Flooring based out of Sequim, Washington. To reduce the exorbitant cost for a complete remodel, we decided to replace our old Formica kitchen countertops with laminate that has a printed pattern that looks like granite. Laminate is much less expensive than other popular materials, such as granite, marble, quartz and conglomerate. We also had to factor in the thickness of the countertop material. Installing granite would require removing the first row of the existing ceramic tile backsplash, resulting in an additional expense for restoration. Also, to minimize the cost of our kitchen remodel project, we decided not to replace the cabinets. Although most of the door hinges and cabinet drawer slides need to be replaced, the cabinets are all solid wood and in relatively good condition. I plan on refinishing the cabinet fronts sometime in the future…when I have a lot of spare time on my hands.
