This the the first show of The Works Tour, a tour which has gotten a bad reputation among the bootleg community, mainly for Freddie's poor stamina and the rather uninspired musicianship from the band on some of the shows. However, when it comes to this show, everything I just listed off can be thrown out the window. The band sound enthusiastic about being back on stage after a long hiatus, Freddie is in excellent voice (One of his best post-prime gigs), and the set list is incredible, with a massive mix of classic 70s Queen and the stuff from the newer albums as well. In fact, every one of Queen's albums is featured in the set list on these early Works Tour shows (No songs from Jazz are featured, but on some nights, Brian would play part of the solo from Dead On Time). This show is a heartbreaking example of how good this tour could have been, but the band couldn't keep up with the level they played at here in Brussels, and things went south very quickly. Elite performances like this are a rarity this late in Queen's live career, so this one is to savour. On a side note, clips from the Hammer to Fall music video were shot during the song's performance at this show. Most of the footage comes from a reshoot the following day (which was otherwise an off-day) at the same venue, but there are a few parts that do come from this show.
