Worst Advice Ever: Write What You Know

There's a misconception among young or new writers that they should only "write what they know." That's nonsense. In fact, it might be the worst bit of advice ever handed out. Another misconception is that publishers practice some form of age discrimination--that authors can be too old or too young to get published. That's just not true. No one cares what a writer looks like. All that matters is the ability to tell a good story well. This episode unravels these misconceptions and gives my take on what they really mean.
