Coast Guard Calls Off Search for Woman Who Fell Off Ship
The U.S. Coast Guard said on Twitter they “searched more than 31 hours for the woman” who reportedly fell off a Carnival Cruise Line ship. They are now “standing down pending additional information.” The Carnival Miracle left Southern California on Thursday heading toward Ensenada, Mexico. The unidentified woman reportedly fell from the balcony of her stateroom on Saturday. Carnival said in part in a statement, "Our thoughts are with the guest and her family, and our Care Team is providing support."
