Woodturning - Pot Luck
Was searching for inspiration for this weeks video when a thought came into my mind to do something Oriental in design. I took inspiration for Monasteries in and around Asia and picked the wood types to give the piece some contrast and depth. From the bottom upwards the woods are: Teak, North American Hard Maple, Unknown Species (please let me know if you're aware of what it may be), Wenge and African Blackwood. The base was sanded to 1200 Grit and finished with 4 coats of Danish Oil. The Lid (spire) was sanded to 7000 GRIT! and finished with Danish Oil also.
I'm really pleased with how this has turned out, it was great fun to make and will now take pride of place on the mantel.
Hope you enjoy/enjoyed, please consider liking and subscribing, even give the video a share if your up for it! Each project and video usually takes 10+ hours to finish, so your support is very much appreciated. More woodturning and woodworking projects will be on their way soon.
