Gerry Ortega was a Filipino journalist known for his climate activism and for broadcasting views critical of local politicians. In 2011, he was murdered in broad daylight. Authorities have linked the killing to a local politician, who so far has managed to evade trial and has since gone into hiding. But 13 years on, Ortega’s family continues to pursue justice for the slain activist.
