Future STOL Airlifter Concept (BTL-85) in X-Plane 11

STOL Airlifter concept I developed in X-Plane 11 for the Military Transport design competition. Also incorporates capabilities in Darpa's Speed Agile program. "Super" STOL capability + high subsonic cruise speed and stealth design.

Unique from the Boeing and Lockheed powered lift system by using Thrust vector control in front of Center of Gravity (Front Vector Control - FVC), made possible by a tandem wing setup (oversized, positive lift tail) is simpler, and can be used for low speed control.

FVC is actually more efficient than conventional Aft Thrust Vector Control used by many 4th and 5th generation fighter planes which only improves instantaneous turn performance but not sustained turn performance. FVC also improves sustained turn performance because thrust is vectored into the turn, not away (in aft TVC).
