My nearly VTOL Airlifter concept test flight in X-Plane v10.51

The BTL-8 aircraft concept exploits the "Charles Zimmerman Effect" (discovered in the 1930s) to make very simple VTOL capability.

I've been working on this concept for about two years now which began in December 2015. The BTL-8 has the same payload specs as Alenia C-27J tactical airlifter and is easy enough to fly in X-Plane v10.51 even in simulated adverse weather conditions.

The concept is about final but I'm not sure if it actually falls into the category of VTOL or STOL (extremely STOL) aircraft. There are situations it can actually be touched down vertically and take off vertically even with zero headwind depending on pilot skill (or luck in my case). It can also hover like a helicopter but at 35 degrees nose up attitude. It can certainly produce more lift than its MTOW at zero airspeed in horizontal position and finally, it can absolutely make VTOL operations in an aircraft carrier that is steaming at least 15 knots.
