Amela's Diagnosis at the Mbale Referral Hospital - Malnutrition

It was great to take Sharon (the nurse in black) with us on this trip. She knew exactly which buttons to press at the crazy busy Mbale Referral hospital for things to happen, and through her help, we got Amela checked and tests were done, and it was established she was mainly just malnourished. We could see why this was so - her grandma had a son who needed her attention among other issues she faced as a poor woman with a drunk husband, and there was no way she would focus on Amela as her son cried nonstop. The good news that came out of those tests was that our Amela wasn't having many health issues. In fact she didn't have malaria, and that was a good sign.
I forgot the good lady who had brought those gifts for Amela. There would not have been a better time to give them out. Amela would be given those supplements alongside the fortified milk from the hospital. Her future looked good. THANK YOU SO MUCH, DEAR DONOR for sending out that box. As we upload this video, Amela is still at the palliative care center, in Mbale, Uganda. The little girl and grandma's son are still there with Amela. There's little they can do, and we had to accept it, that they all needed to be present for the sake of Amela. RUS has been sending all the needed support and we intend to keep doing it until Amela is back to normal and a grown up girl, like Asiko.
We're walking together as a team, and this not an individual's work, lets anyone should brag about things they don't deserve any credit for. It is a collective work of love, and we're all important parts in the jigsaw puzzle. We invite everyone to join us in touching lives and making a difference in rural Africa.
