1984 Philco 12" B&W TV
Here's another old TV from my collection, a 12" Philco B&W from 1984. This set was made by North American Philips Consumer Electronics (NAP) and was also sold under the Magnavox and Sylvania brands. Philco was bought by Ford Motor Company in 1961. Then, Ford sold the Philco consumer products division to GTE, who also owned Sylvania, in 1974. In 1981, NAP (who already owned Magnavox) bought the Philco and Sylvania consumer product lines from GTE. There were a few carry-over GTE designed chassis that were continued into the NAP era; but, for the most part, the only difference between a NAP-era Magnavox, Sylvania, or Philco TV is the name on the front of the set.
