Grief at graduation: Minister consoles daughter of slain woman during Tunapuna ceremony.

An emotional scene unfolded at a graduation ceremony in Tunapuna as Homeland Security Minister and Tunapuna MP Roger Alexander offered comfort to a grieving daughter whose mother was recently killed.

The moment occurred during a hairdressing graduation event at Roslyn Hall and lounge, where Leshia Kalliecharan was among those receiving certification.

However, what should have been a celebratory milestone was overshadowed by tragedy following the recent death of her mother, Tricia Marajh.

During the ceremony, Alexander was seen embracing the young woman as she became visibly overwhelmed with emotion.

Marajh was shot and killed just days earlier on Wednesday, 8th April, 2026, outside her Riverside Road, Curepe home.— Story by I.A.N News
