A Conversation With Willie Perkins, Part One: Road Managing The Allman Brothers Band 1970-1975
Way back in 1970, Willie Perkins left a white-collar banking job to take over the road managing duties of a bunch of ragtag hippies known as the Allman Brothers Band. In part one of our conversation with Mr. Perkins, he describes the unbelievable victories and tragedies of the ABB including losing their leader, Duane Allman, and then one year later, bassist Berry Oakley. Even after their losses, the Brothers climbed to new heights of fame and glory. Willie Perkins details these events in his book "No Saints, No Saviors" as well as in Part One of this conversation. You don't want to miss this one!
