Evolution of Manglobe (and Geno Studio) in Openings (2004-2018)

Manglobe was founded in 2002 by Sunrise producers Shinichirō Kobayashi and Takashi Kochiyama. The studio made it's name early with the original shows Samurai Champloo (directed by Shinichirō Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop), who would later also produce Michiko to Hatchin) and Ergo Proxy.

The studio ended up accumulating debts estimated around 350 million yen (~3.5 million dollars), and had to end it's activities in September of 2015. At this time, they were working on the film Genocidal Organ, which had to be delayed, and was finished in 2017 by the newly founded Geno Studio, which were composed mostly by formed Manglobe staff.

In 2018, Geno Studio already made two TV-anime, and it's expected to make more in the future.

Manglobe foi fundada em 2002 pelos produtores da Sunrise Shinichirō Kobayashi e Takashi Kochiyama. O estúdio criou reputação cedo com os animes originais Samurai Champloo (dirigido por Shinichirō Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop), que mais tarde trabalharia como produtor de Michiko to Hatchin) e Ergo Proxy.

O estúdio acabou acumulando dívidas estimadas em 350 milhões de ienes (~3,5 milhões de dólares), e teve que encerrar as atividades em setembro de 2015. Nessa época, eles estavam trabalhando no filme Genocidal Organ, que teve sua data de lançamento adiada, e foi finalizado em 2017 pelo recém-formado Estúdio Geno, composto majoritariamente por ex-funcionários da Manglobe.

Em 2018, o Estúdio Geno já fez dois animes de televisão, e espera-se que faça mais ainda no futuro.
