Rules of Air Combat (Bf109G-14 vs. Tempest V)

In this mission, I lead an attack on a pair of Tempest Mk Vs with height advantage. They see us and react correctly, at least initially. But their Lead fails to capitalize on his relative speed advantage, and makes two fatal errors. As a result, Both Tempests go down to our guns. IL-2 does a great job at punishing you if you fail to understand relative aircraft performance or fail to play to your advantages.

This was my first mission in a new Ruhr 1944 career mode campaign. A great start.

Note: I get so many more views with my shorts, but I realized that while shorts deliver lots of cool shots in quick bursts, the longer, wide-screen format is best to tell a story. And at the end of the day, that's what I enjoy doing: using the sim to bring history and tactics to life.
