Candace Fujikane is an English professor at the University of Hawaiʻi. She is the author of Mapping Abundance for a Planetary Future: Kanaka Maoli and Critical Settler Cartographies in Hawaiʻi. She has stood as a settler aloha ʻāina to protect lands and waters in Hawaiʻi for the past twenty years

Speakers:
Puni Jackson is Program Director at Ho’oulu ‘Āina. She is a Native Hawaiian cultural practitioner and has led endeavors in Hawaiian cultural and ‘āina-based educational programming for over 18 years. She has been instrumental in establishing Hoʻoulu ʻĀina as a healing refuge for the community and for Native Hawaiian cultural practitioners.

Hi'ilei Kawelo has been Paepae o Heʻeia’s Executive Director since 2007 after having served as an educator, facilities manager and Kū Hou Kuapā Coordinator for the organization. Raised in Kahaluʻu by her fishing family, she has been a student to the art and science of lawaiʻa and Kāneʻohe Bay her entire life.
