Abby screamed in pain as she hobbled forward, favoring the arm that had suddenly snapped beneath her. Abby was born with low bone density and now urgently needs surgery to overcome this devastating injury. We are heartbroken watching her suffer like this after everything she’s already endured. She needs immediate medical intervention, and we can’t do this without your help. Will you be the miracle Abby’s looking for?

This sweet girl’s story began on the unforgiving streets of Skid Row, where she was found alongside her mom at just 10 weeks old—you can see her as a puppy in some of the videos attached to this story. We rescued both Abby and her mom, determined to give them a chance at a safer life. Recently, Abby made it to a foster home. We were so thrilled that this precious pup finally had a chance to melt into safety and just learn what it meant to be a puppy. For a while, Abby’s story was looking up. But in a moment of play with the foster’s resident dog, everything changed.

Because Abby was born with weak bones and low bone density, her arm was always at risk. This weekend, it gave out completely. We don’t know exactly what happened, but while she was running around and playing, her leg just… snapped. Right away, the foster family rushed her to the hospital. That’s where doctors confirmed that the break is so severe that amputation is now her only option. Without surgery, her pain will only continue. We can’t let that happen.

Our team is acting fast to get Abby the care she desperately needs, but we weren’t prepared for this emergency expense. Our team is drowning in urgent cases, and our attention is being pulled in all different directions. Our budget is nearly wiped out. We don’t have the funds to secure Abby’s critical surgery AND have enough left over to provide for the other animals still counting on us. This is urgent, and we need your help.
