When You 'Blunder' a Fork On Purpose
Chess Lore #8 | When You 'Blunder' a Fork On Purpose
In this video, I show the practical aspects of how to play the Sicilian Defense Kan variation, the plans one could go for, how to find counterplay and attack in opposite side castling positions, and how to defend against your opponent's attack on the Kingside. For this video, I didn't want to include the evaluation bar because I felt it was a bit misleading. Yes, the chess engine sees a solid advantage for white at some point during the game but, that's why they're engines. Practically, both sides had chances and in human chess, practicality is paramount. So, I hope you see the big picture i.e. the plans, how to attack and defend etc and not focus on some brute force engine line that you're not going to be able to find in your own games anyway.
ABOUT THIS SERIES
I share my thought process during my games and share useful chess strategies, chess techniques, chess concepts, chess tactics, etc. and hopefully, you learn a thing or fifty from me ;-) feel free to ask whatever questions you might have and I'd do my best to respond to as many as possible.
I believe this is a good way to learn to play chess, watching one "chess strategy for beginners and intermediate players" might not help very much but seeing how these ideas and concepts are applied in many different ways and positions is what makes it stick and that's the main goal for this channel.
I plan to cover all these chess openings in this series
Ruy Lopez
Italian Game aka Giuoco Piano
Sicilian Defense
French Defense
Caro Kann Defense
Pirc Defense
Queen's Gambit (Accepted/Declined)
English Opening
Indian Defenses (King's Indian Defense, Queen's Indian Defense, Nimzo Indian Defense, Grunfeld Defense, etc )
Dutch Defense
Modern Defense
Owen's Defense
We would also explore systems like:-
The London System
Colle Systems
King's Indian Attack
Dark Knight System etc
