Experience the joy of sweet sibling harmony from The Ault Sisters. Amanda, Alicia and Alanna Ault have been producing music together for over a decade. The trio are currently making a name for themselves in vocal jazz, a genre in which their signature and sublimely seamless vocal harmonies really shine. As Greg Kavanagh has described, “the sisters have an uncanny ability to match voices. They chase each other around harmonically, so the blends are very interesting. They have very sharp ears!” The Ault Sisters first performed in public as a trio in 2004, at a benefit concert in Brampton. Their Christmas Feelings album then brought them national exposure, and it helped launch what has become a welcome Yuletide musical tradition in Toronto. Every holiday season for the past nine years, The Ault Sisters have played a Christmas benefit concert at Hugh’s Room. “That has become an annual thing for our family and friends and fans and even the people who work at the club. They say ‘it’s not Christmas until The Ault Sisters come,’” laughs Amanda. The group has also captivated audiences at such prestigious venues as Mississauga’s Living Arts Centre, ~Brampton’s Rose Theatre, and notable Toronto clubs, Lula Lounge & The Jazz Bistro.
