The TCS Nashik case has taken a significant turn, with investigators uncovering new details that expand the scope of the probe beyond the city. Prosecutors informed a Nashik court that evidence suggests attempts were made to influence the complainant to adopt Islam through religious teachings, including providing a burqa, religious literature, and installing apps related to religious practices on her phone. Plans to change her name to ‘Hania’ were also allegedly discussed.
A key development in the case is the emerging Malaysia link. The prosecution claimed that the accused were preparing to send the complainant abroad for a job through a contact identified as Imran. Investigators are now examining whether there was financial backing behind this alleged plan. The probe has also widened to Malegaon, where co-accused Danish Sheikh is accused of handling the complainant’s documents as part of the network.
Meanwhile, the main accused Nida Khan remains absconding, with authorities seeking access to her mobile phone for further evidence. The defence has denied all allegations, arguing that no conversion took place and questioning the filing of multiple FIRs. The case will be heard next on May 2.
