Gujarati Woman Critically Injured in Accidental U.S. Grocery Store Shooting, Husband Arrested

A Gujarati woman, Jigisha "Soniya" Gajera, was critically injured in an accidental shooting at Maggio's Grocery in Bossier City, United States, on April 4. The 30-year-old was shot during a business meeting at the store, where she and her husband Sharad Gajera were reportedly discussing a potential purchase of the property. Police say Sharad picked up a gun belonging to store owner Vince Maggio, a local city councilman known to keep weapons on the premises. The bullet passed through Soniya's jaw, causing severe facial injuries including the loss of part of her nose and several teeth. Sharad, 40, turned himself in after an arrest warrant was issued for illegal use of a weapon. No court date has been set. The investigation remains ongoing.
