Marta Mirska sings Hanka Ordonówna: Miłość ci wszystko wybaczy, 1950s
Miłość ci wszystko wybaczy (Love Will Forgive You Everything) Walc angielski z filmu Hanki Ordonówny "Szpieg w masce", 1933 (English Waltz from Hanka Ordonówna movie "A Masked Spy") Muzyka: Henryk Wars, Tekst: Julian Tuwim - Marta Mirska & Zespół Instrumentalny Wiesława Machana (Instrumental Ensamble dir. by Wiesław Machan), Muza ca late 1950s (Polish product)
NOTE: Marta MIRSKA (Alicja Nowak-Rejnigier) b. 1918 in Warszawa, d. in 1991 - was a popular Polish singer with a very distinctive alto voice, much reminding of Leo Marjane or Zarah Leander, also in the choice of her repertoire favouring many international hits (Besame Mucho http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BwFBOhnktE )
as well as swing or jazz tunes of 1940s. She started her public performances shortly before WW2 in Warsaw to continue them through next years in Wilno, where she fled from the nazi-occupied capital of Poland. She survived war and after 1945 she attached her career to a newly established private record company "Melodje" in Poznań, where, together with Łopatowski Brothers Jazz Orchestra http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czFawoxBvsU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BCehoRQ1Sw she recorded - as long as it was politically possible - a lot of her best jazzy tunes ("My Little Rendez-Vous", "Kiss Me Once, Kiss Me Twice", "Give Me Five Minutes More" etc.). In the Stalinist times she performed in a rather folkloristic repertoire, to turn in the end of 1950s towards her new renditions of most beautiful pre-war hits (e.g. valse „François" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydJIq1qVmak or Hanka Ordonównas evergreen „Miłość ci wszystko wybaczy" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYkFiUsEQ8U ) as well as contemporary sentimental songs, e.g. tango "Pierwszy siwy włos" (Your First White Hair) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-lnKUlILYU being her greatest hit, or another popular tango "Letnia przygoda" (A Summer Adventure) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1C7IuJ-T9yQ . In the end of 1960s she ceased her artistical activity.
The slideshow contains a few photos of Marta Mirska and of pre-war creators of that wonderful hit - probably being, ex aequo with "Oh, Donna Clara" and "The Last Sunday", the 3rd hugest evergreen in the history of Polish song: Hanka Ordonówna, who was the first and never-forgotten performer of that song, Henryk Wars - one of the best prewar composers of the revue- and film music, and the lyricist Julian Tuwim - who was one of the finest poets of XXth century Polish literature.
