Landscape Photography WHEN THINGS TURN EPIC!
In this video entitled "Landscape Photography when things turn epic" I experienced one of those very rare days, you get as a Landscape Photographer.
Last week I visited the Lake District National Park with the intention of climbing up Side Pike to capture a few photographs. Sadly, the weather was abysmal. The term pea soup springs to mind!
In a bid to at least grab a few photographs while at the Lakes I ventured out in search of some woodlands. Woodland photography, especially on a miserable day, is always a good bet. Woodland photography is always a great plan B. It always pays to have a backup plan, just in case!
I remembered the woods around Ridal Water and Grasmere always looked pretty decent. It was a location I had earmarked as a place to visit, especially in search of woodland photography. When I parked up I noticed just how spectacular the lone tree at Rydal Water looked. Despite the fact I've never really wanted to photograph this beauty spot, it was just too good an opportunity to turn down.
In brief, I grabbed a few shots just before sunset. I was so happy with them I decided to return the following day. Sadly the conditions weren't the best so remembering my original plan I headed off in search of a few woodland images. The woods were ok but nothing special.
Continuing on with my day I happened across another great looking lake, Grasmere. The rain and mist were really hampering the photography but I persevered. There are a couple of sayings... "all good things come to those who wait" and "you've got to be in it to win it". Both of those rung true. Instead of packing up, I kept at it. I'm so glad I did!
