History of GAZ BA-64 4-Wheeled Light Armored Car. Soviet Union Military Vehicles WW2. In this video we’ll talk about the armored car Ba 64. This armored car, from the period of World War 2, was created in 1941 on the chassis of the GAZ-64 and was produced from 1942 to 1945. This model became the first Soviet serial four-wheel drive armored car.
The soldiers used this model of an armored car from the summer of 1942 until the end of the war, as reconnaissance vehicles, as well as to support infantry. The armored car accommodated 2 people; equipped with a 4-cylinder engine with a capacity of 50 liters. The combat weight was 2.36 tons; highway speed was 80 kilometres per hour.
In the postwar years, this type of armored car was used mostly as a combat training vehicles. In the 1950s, the Ba-64 was withdrawn from service with the Soviet Army. This armored car was also used by the North Korea army in the Korean War.
Over the entire production period of the BA-64 armored car, from 1942 to the beginning of 1946, more than 9 thousand armored vehicles were produced. The video shows the armored car ba-64.
