History of Opel Kadet 1936. Old German Cars from the 30s. Retro Cars of Germany

Best classic Germany cars of the 30s. History of Opel Kadet from the 1930s. Today we will talk about the Opel Kadett retro car. The fall of 1936 marked the beginning of the production of first-generation Opel Kadett cars. A simple and inexpensive car immediately won success among buyers. Externally, the car resembled the then-famous Opel Olympia, but with some changes in the design of the supporting body.
This model was offered in three versions: a two- and four-door sedan and a convertible. The car was rear-wheel drive with a load-bearing body and was equipped with a 1.3-liter engine with a capacity of 23 liters. It could accelerate to a maximum of 98 kilometers per hour. Kadett also had the same suspension, rear axle and steering as the Opel Olympia.
This car made a huge impression on the Soviet Union, because after the end of the Second World War they began to produce copies of the Opel Cadet under the name Moskvich. It is worth noting that after the war the production of cars did not resume; the car returned to the market only in 1962, where it again won the fame of an affordable car.
In the period from 1936 to 1939, more than 100 thousand Opel Cadets were produced. The video shows the Opel Kadett, 1936 release. What do you say about this car? Share your impressions, comment on the video, subscribe to the channel and see you soon, friends, bye.
