History of Chevrolet Impala 1973. Old American Muscle Cars of the 1970s
Greatest and legendary American classic muscle cars from the 70s. Chevrolet Impala 1973 review. Today I’ll tell you about the legendary Chevrolet Impala Convertible, produced in 1973. Chevrolet Impala is an American car that has been manufactured from 1957 to the present day. This model was very popular in the sixties - seventies. The full-size car reaches a length of 5.6 m, and attracts attention with a long hood.
This car was equipped with a 390 horse power gasoline eight-cylinder engine, had an automatic 3-speed gearbox; accelerated to 100 kilometers per hour in 9 seconds and the maximum speed was 200 kilometers per hour. However, in 1973, a crisis hit the United States. It was related to the oil embargo in protest of the US providing military assistance to Israel.
The cost of fuel increased for several times and a restriction on the supply of fuel in one hand was introduced. In this situation, large cars were not in demand. In this regard, car production fell from one million per year to a modest one hundred thousand. Manufacturers tried to attract customers by issuing "limited versions" and "special equipment", as a result of which two versions were released: "Spirit of America" and "Landau" (read "Lando"). The video shows the Chevrolet Impala Convertible.
