Stevie first added her lyrics for "Dial The Number" to a Sandy Stewart instrumental track in 1982 and recorded several versions of the song for 'The Wild Heart.' In 1988, with producer Rupert Hine, Stevie recorded several new versions of "Dial The Number" for her fourth album, 'The Other Side Of The Mirror.'

I obtained this version in 2011, and it was labeled as the "Final Mix" and was slated for inclusion on the album. It must've been taken off of the final track listing for 'The Other Side Of The Mirror' at the last minute.

"Dial The Number" is one of several songs recorded for 'The Other Side Of The Mirror' to feature Kenny G. on saxophone.
