Magnitude of absentee ballots ups likelihood for 'shenanigans'

Sky News contributor Daisy Cousens says it is fair enough the US election would get a closer look under the circumstances, because the magnitude of absentee ballots coming in provides a much higher propensity for “shenanigans”.

“I think it’s a little bit unfair to say that Trump is going to undermine this process, and he certainly didn’t say he wasn’t going to respect the votes that weren’t for him.

“The problem that the Republicans have, the issue they have, is there have been very legitimate concerns raised in Pennsylvania and I believe Wisconsin and possibly Georgia, of Republican poll watchers … either not being allowed into polling stations to watch the vote, or being allowed in but being made to stay 30 meters away, which means they might as well not be in.

“Rudy Giuliani … said there were 140,000 votes that came into Philadelphia and Wisconsin, and the argument they are putting forward, is that those votes were not legitimately counted because the poll watches were not allowed to watch them.

“There’s other evidence of say dead people being mailed a ballot.

“There are a lot of cases where an entire state is sent an unsolicited ballot which of course if you’re sending tens of millions of people unsolicited ballots, anyone could fill them out.

“Common sense would tell you, in an election like this, with just the magnitude of absentee ballots coming out, paper ballots that can be filled out by anyone that of course, there is a higher propensity here for shenanigans here, as Donald Trump put it.

“It is fair enough under the circumstances that this election gets a closer look.”
