10 Things You Can Buy And Keep Forever | Rich Habits

I grew up in a poor household, but we would make things last for as long as we possibly could. So in this video, I’ll tell you about 10 things that I plan on buying and keeping forever, some until literally forever and others until I can't keep them anymore.

1. Car
- We switch cars every 8 years on average and more than half of us switch it every 5 years
- You know the lone is over, and the warranty is done
- So we get back on the hook for another lone

However:
- I was at the car wash with a 2017 Toyota Corolla
- And I meant a man who was driving a Toyota Corolla also but this one was from 1990 potentially
- He has been driving it for around 32-33 years and just a year ago changed the transmission
- The car has less than 252k miles on it
- When was the last time people did that, The truth is we don’t need to change cars as frequently as we do

My next car will be most likely a Mazda CX5 or Toyota rav4
- I will most likely drive it
- Until the wheels fall off

Potentially savings: over 100k for sure

2. Houses
- The average move is every 5-7 years or so I think
- And switches homes more than 11 times in a lifetime
- Imagine all those closing costs, all those moving expenses or that cost

However:
- Warren Buffet one of the richest men in the world bought his in 1958, about 65 years ago
- And has never moved
- That means he paid is mortgage 35 years ago and has never had to worry about a mortgage again

My next Home: Will probably a home I grow a family in 4-5 bedrooms 2.5-3 baths
- When you think long term
- You think about taking care of the property

3. Stock Investment
- I know people who buy and sell stocks every year
- But the people who get rich are usually the people who never sell and always keep buying
- If a business makes money then why would you sell it
4. Phone
- People don’t buy phones beucase they need one anymore
- They buy them beucase a new one came out and they don’t want to fix or just don’t want their phone anymore
5. Clothes
- Clothes get worn out especially when they are cheap
- I don’t own any of the clothes that I bought from h&m years ago
- They just don’t last ( or at least they didn’t last me long ) personally
6. I have a smartwatch
- It's an apple watch series 7
- When this watch dies, I don’t plan on buying another smartwatch
- I’ll probably buy a Casio watch with a battery that lasts 10 years and watches that can run forever

7. Laptop
- I’ve own fancy laptops that are for gaming
- They tend to go bad quick
- So I bought a apple laptop which usually can keep running for about 10 years

8. Good Pair of Shoes
- Some people like ramit like Brunello which is asneaker that cost 500 to 1000 dollars
- But you get life long warrenty, but ramit is multi millionaire that were 9000 dollar sweaters
- That’s to much for me

I do agree though
- Better to buy a good pair of sheos that can last oyu 10 years
- Made out leather, suede, nutbuck and more
- Shoes like this can go for 100-200 but imagine buying a pair of shoes and keeping them for 10 years

9. Stainless Steel cookware
- I don’t own any
- And the one that I do own are nonstick pans or something like that
- That eventually becomes toxic I think

So the goal is simple:
- In some time I’ll buy some stainless and keep them for a lifetime

10. Knives
- I have good knives but not great knives
- But they work
- This is something else that you can keep forever if you take care of them
