February 25: The Syrophoenician Woman (Mark 7:24-30)

Oh, to be hungry enough for the Grace of GOD that we would would be satisfied with "leftover" Grace!

"..even the dogs under the table are allowed to eat the scraps from the children's plate."

The Grace and Mercy of Christ Jesus is for all who would receive it with joy. This woman knew she was unworthy of Christ's Mercy, not because she was not a Jew, but because she knew she was a sinner! Yet, she fell at the feet of Christ with complete humility, begging for freedom from the evil that was tormenting her and her family. Christ responded to her plea, not with "scraps" of Mercy, but with a full and complete serving of Grace and Peace!

May the LORD cause our hearts to be grateful for all the many mercies Christ Jesus has bestowed upon us; from the breath we breathe, to the protection He gives, for the Freedom we have experienced from the grip of Sin (for those of us who have been born again), for the suffering He endured by becoming Sin and bearing the full Wrath of God for us unworthy sinners...May we always be grateful!! In Christ's Name, I pray!
