Sinclairs are a British manufacturer of quality paper stationery and have been since 1837. A family owned and run business in their 6th generation that continues to grow and innovate, developing ranges for an ever-changing market.

Sinclairs manufacture a number of brands including Silvine Originals which is a British icon in the world of notebooks. Each book has been designed for purpose, but still keeping the key features that make a Silvine Original special. The red embossed covers (colour matched in the James Cropper technical lab), the deep blue print, perforated pages and lay-flat construction.

With its classic laurel logo on the front, the brand is well-recognised. For decades school children, designers, artists and writers have found Silvine Orignals books a joy to write and draw on…and a resurgence in the art of penmanship has seen the use of ink and calligraphy pens still well used.

Sinclairs is most probably James Cropper’s oldest customer, there is an entry in an 1860 hand-written ledger in the Sinclairs archive that lists James Cropper as a supplier.

There are a lot of synergies between the two companies, both are British family businesses in their 6th generation producing products crafted to unwavering standards.
