Postcard from Boscobel House and the Royal Oak, Shropshire | England Drone Footage

The beautiful timber-framed hunting lodge of Boscobel House in Shropshire is home to a unique story in England's history. It was here that King Charles II famously took refuge from Oliver Cromwell's approaching troops in 1651, hiding in an oak tree that would become known at the Royal Oak. The tree's biological descendent still stands at the house today.

In 2021, Boscobel House has benefited from a major investment project and now features a recreation of the Victorian farmyard, 17th-century garden, stories to explore by candlelight and a newly planted woodland and a play area.
