The Gospel of Mark: Ever Felt Overlooked?

John the Baptist? The one that Mark started his gospel off by telling us all about? He prepared the way for Jesus to arrive on the scene. He shows back up in Mark 6, but this time it is just a footnote to the story. John the Baptist is being executed by Herod. In another gospel account, John’s followers come to Jesus to see if he has forgotten about John. It’s before his death and he is sitting in prison. John knew he wasn’t the main character in the story, but he probably didn’t imagine it would end like this. Are we ok with our life story not looking like we would like?
