An Eye For Perfection

Jesus just keeps pushing harder and harder. Now, we not only have to withhold revenge and retribution in response to our enemies – within our hearts we are expected to love them, and then even pray for them. He seems to be saying that God loves my enemies as much as he loves me. Is that what he is really saying? Sure seems like it. Love everyone – no exceptions – that is the path to godliness . The poor as well – I am expected to love and help the poor, but get no public recognition for it. Harboring goodwill toward those who direct ill-will at me. Doing good in secret – those are the rhythms of a good heart.
