WHEN TRAVEL GOES WRONG! Travel DISASTER for BRITISH COUPLE in GREECE!

In this video we leave the island of Santorini after spending 6 weeks living on the island. During this time Greece was beginning to go into another lockdown for winter 2020 so we had to plan everything really carefully. We decided to book our ferry tickets at the office of Blue Star ferries in person to check everything was ok for a British couple to travel by ferry to Naxos. We booked our tickets the day before we were due to leave to avoid any last minute rule changes that might affect our travel. The guy in the Blue Star ferry office said it was fine and so we bought our tickets from him and the next day we said our goodbyes to the wonderful island and our accommodation hosts Alex and Lena before making our way down to the ferry port.

We had no idea what was about to happen next... as soon as we boarded the ferry things began to go pretty wrong and got very stressful. The Greek port police banned us from going onboard, we were made to drag our bags back off of the ferry across loads of traffic and then had to witness a group argument in Greek between the port police and the ferry staff who ultimately were trying to tell the police exactly the same thing we had tried to tell him.

This is not the happiest of travel videos as we were super stressed after this but it is all part of the reality of full time travel, especially with rule changes happening daily during a global pandemic. Days like this are exactly the reason we have been staying still for so long in each destination to keep travel days to a minimum during this time.

We decided after all the stress to get some food and reminisce on our time in Greece, looking back at some of the happy memories and amazing things we have seen during our time here.
