How to Make a Plaid Pie Lattice | Baking Tip

Take your lattice top pie to the next level with a creative plaid pie crust.

1) Cut wide strips and leave very little space between the strips for a thicker, quilted look.
2) Cut skinny strips, and position two skinny strips very close to each other, leaving a larger amount of space between every pair of skinny strips. You’ll end up with a lattice that looks a little like plaid.
3) Get a trellis look. Use thin strips of dough, and lay them on top of each other to form a grid…no need to weave. Then, go down one line of squares, and using your finger, gently nudge one side of the square into a curve up. Nudge the line below it into a curve down. Then nudge up, and then down again, alternating until you’ve finished the column. Now, do the column next to it. When you’ve finished this direction, turn the pie, and repeat.
