This is a signature Pino Palladino bassline! It’s supporting and easy in the beginning of the song, but it really gets cooking in the Chorus (bar 47-54).
In the intro and first Verse it’s really easy: playing eight notes on the first beat. He adds some notes in the first Chorus (bar 19-26) and the Interlude (bar 27-30); goes back to basics in the second Verse (bar 31-38); adds some really tasteful notes in the pre-chorus (bar 39-46) and really starts going in the Chorus (bar 47-54). And in the Bridge he’s really rhythmic.

How about building a bassline!!!!!

I really like the main groove in the Chorus (for instance bar 47 and 48). It’s got a beautiful slide and it’s rhythmic very interesting by starting of the second 16th note on the second beat and playing two 16th note on the second half on the third beat. In bar 48 there’s a nice ghost note and also here this rhythmic challenge: playing a 16th after the start of the second and fourth beat.

During the solo Pino return to the basics with an occasional (beautiful) lick.
When returning to the Chorus Pino adds some variations in the main groove and continues these variations in chorus 3, 4 and outro.
