CNN's Wolf Blitzer gave a firsthand account of seeing the person who fired shots inside the Washington Hilton.
"I did see the gunman on the ground after he started shooting. He was still shooting, I could hear the shots going off," Blitzer said in an interview with CNN, which he did via phone since he was still in the Hilton. "I was on the ground, too, because a police officer was on top of me trying to protect me in case the bullets went near me. I can't describe the gunman. The sense I got is, the police who were there took care of him relatively quickly. It was a very frightening incident."
A shooter opened fire inside the hotel where President Donald Trump was attending the White House Correspondents' Dinner, a law enforcement official told the Associated Press.
