Tendons are the structures that take a lot of load in the movement you do day to day and within your sports. it all depends on how intense you have trained as an athlete , the rest you take , and the prehab you do . Usually your body can adapt to the " load tolerance " usually also known as the strength of the endon.
High velocity movements in the knee can allow the knee tendons to recover within 2-3 days . However , it there is excessive and extreme train with poor sleep and recovery the recovery then turns into injury and inflammation .
Usually the injuries are caused by explosive movements.
Thus, jumpers knee is also known as patellar tendonitis or tendosis.
