Lance Community Sync - Mar 12, 2026

Lance 3.0.0 SDK has been released, Lance is now a core DuckDB extension, and the team is discussing adoption of the Lance 2.2 file format. A distributed vector index proposal showing up to a 20x build speedup will be shared soon for community feedback.
