"Israel bombs, Columbia pays, how many (Indigenous Palestinian) kids did you kill today?"

Columbia University students started the "Gaza Solidarity Encampment" at the South Lawn in Manahatta, Lenapehoking (Manhattan, New York City), on April 17, 2024. Students demand that Columbia University divests from companies and interest that support zionist, apartheid Israel.

Within Our Lifetime, The People's Forum and other organizations held a rally outside Columbia University in support of the students.

On April 17, was Palestinian Prisoners Day. Zionist Israel has around 10,000 Palestinian HOSTAGES in zionist jails.

"Tonight, we are taking our commemoration of Palestinian political prisoners to Columbia University, to stand with the brave students who made history today with their Gaza Solidarity encampment!

Meet us at Union Square to travel together as a contingent or head straight to Columbia!," said The People's Forum. twitter.com/PeoplesForumNYC/status/1780700414465519670

People took the train from Union Square to Columbia. On the train people chanted "Free, free Palestine" and other chants. NYPD Timothy Beaudette and other cops were on the same train.

On 4/18/24, the president of Columbia University, Nemat "Minouche" Shafik asked zionist NYC mayor Eric Adams, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) to enter Columbia University and arrest the PEACEFUL students at the Gaza Solidarity Encampment.

NYPD officers arrested at least 108 people, including two legal observers of the National Lawyers Guild (NLG). NYPD cops have been arresting legal observers of the NLG for a long time.

After NYPD cops arrested students, other students moved to the West Lawn. Independent presidential candidate Cornel West joined protestors at the second encampment.

"Columbia’s shameful decision to suspend + arrest their own students for demanding an end to complicity in the genocide of Gaza has majorly backfired. You can kick them off your lawn, but you can’t ban us all from the public streets!," said Nerdeen Kiswani.

"The operation to attack Columbia students and destroy the Gaza Solidarity Encampment was called on by the first Arab president of the University, Manoushe Shafik, in coordination with the Cop mayor of NYC, Eric Adams, overseen by the first Latino commissioner of the NYPD, Edward Caban, alongside Deputy Commissioner Kaz Daughtry, Chief of Patrol (and killer cop) John Chell, and Manhattan North Assistant Chief Ruel Stephenson. All to attack a diverse coalition of students standing against genocide in Palestine," said Within Our Lifetime. twitter.com/WOLPalestine/status/1781062659913200050

"The scene harkened back to historic protests at the university in 1968 in protest of the Vietnam War, with students unfurling some of the same signs, like one that proclaimed the encampment a “Liberated Zone.” After days of protests, the NYPD stormed the campus arresting more than 700 students," writes Gwynne Hogan and Tazbia Fatima on THE CITY. www.thecity.nyc/2024/04/18/columbia-students-arrests-palestine-israel-encampment-nypd

On 4/19/24, The People's Forum and other organizations marched from W 110th St and Frederick Douglass Blvd to Columbia University to support students. twitter.com/PeoplesForumNYC/status/1781290406950433017

Within Our Lifetime held Jummah Khutba + Prayer at the West Butler Lawn.

Before New York City, there was Lenapehoking, the ancestral land of the Lenape people. Forcibly displaced by White European invaders, their land was stolen to create settler states. We live on stolen land. LAND BACK NOW!

Lenapehoking translated as 'homelands of the Lenape'. The territory of the Lenape people before White Europeans invaders arrived was known to them as Lenapehoking, and it covered roughly the area between New York City and Philadelphia, including all of New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania and part of the state of Delaware.

The Lenape, New York City and Manhattan’s original inhabitants, called the island Manahatta, which means “hilly island.” White European invaders stole Manahatta and all of New York City from the Lenape people.
