This week is a deload week for us. So what does that mean?

For the last 8 weeks of training, we’ve gone extremely hard, pushing ourselves a ton with a killer routine, lifting 6 days a week. 💪

So every 8-ish weeks, we take a few days to a week off of lifting heavy weight.

Deloads can be done differently, and there are so many things to think about, but here’s what we do:

🔥 Lift about 70% of usual weight lifted
🔥 Spend more time focused on recovery
🔥 Do one less set of our regular programming
🔥 Focus on great muscle connection, and try out a few new movements for future programming.

Now there’s 3 main issues with deloads for most people:
❌ Tons of people are extremely inconsistent so your body likely doesn’t actually need it.
❌ Life will naturally throw deloads your way. Think sicknesses, vacations, etc
❌ A lot of people don’t train hard enough anyways. If you’re not following a properly periodized routine, leaving tons of reps left in the tank always, etc, your body likely won’t need one.

So while they are beneficial, you need to decide if you need/deserve one, and you’ll notice some great benefits from using them properly.
