The History of Humanistic Judaism

In 2019, the Society for Humanistic Judaism celebrated its 50th anniversary. How did the idea of a secular congregation get started, and how was it received by the Jewish community over the years? Rabbi Miriam Jerris of the Society for Humanistic Judaism has worked helping to organize Humanistic Judaism in various capacities since 1974, and she will share her experience and insight on the founding and growth of our movement.
