Jewish History - Modern Israel (19a of 20 sessions)

The founding of the modern state of Israel was the achievement of secular Jews. A place for a new, modern and often secular Hebrew Jewish culture, a refuge from anti-Jewish oppression, and a source of pride for Jews outside of Israel, Israel has in recent years faced particularly thorny challenges. What does it mean to be a Jewish state, and what does that mean for non-Jews who live there? And is there a path to peace?

Rabbi Adam Chalom, Dean for North America of the International Institute for Secular Humanistic Judaism, continues his exploration of modern Jewish History.
